Album Review: Varsity Star “Things look better from Far Away”

We highlight an album that we received the other day from Elliot, aka Varsity Star, an audiovisual artist living in Brooklyn, New York. The pastel-colored 15-track piece “Things look better from Far Away” provides comfort throughout a profound listening experience. The ambient chillwave album is a mood-stabilizer with its straightforward melody patterns. Tracks are infused with instruments and ambient electronics and transport you further into an ocean of soft synth riffs.

Independently released in March, “Things Look Better from Far Away” is Varsity Stars second full-length album, accompanied by audiovisuals for each track on Instagram, @varsity.star.

This is perfect for a long walk, for a nightly bike ride or a chill session at home.
