Expect mysterious, haunting melodies with Entrañas.

Entrãnas brings a musical style to the electronic music scene that is as distinctive as his discography. In a humble conversation, the artist who explores and reshapes Latin American music and its rhythms in his productions gives an insight into his contexts and inspirations. Dembow, grime, ambient and the darkness of the club are the inner spheres of his music, which he wants everyone who listens to it to ... feel something. Because in the music he can let off steam. Not only for himself, but also with his closest allies like NTFL, PVSSY, CRVZLOMA and 1RM40 and the label Cumbia Tu Mente.

Tell us a little about yourself. Is there anything we can learn about that you think is an important addition to the world of Entrañas?

I'm a music producer from Quito, Ecuador. One important thing is that I like intense experiences, and that's what I want to convey with my music. I want everyone who listens to me, regardless of style or genre, to feel something.

You collaborate a lot throughout Latin America. Which people are you most connected with and how do you collaborate?

Most of the collaborations are with friends and are mostly online. Some of the artists are NTFL, PVSSY, CRVZLOMA and 1RM40. What we have in common is mostly music and how much fun it is to mix our different styles and influences.

Are there any people you'd like to collaborate with in the future, or is there somewhere (musically) you've never been but have always wanted to go?

I would love to collaborate with artists like El Irreal Veintiuno, who is a big inspiration for me, and also artists like Lechuga Zafiro, Debit and Arca. I consider them versatile artists who work with a variety of disciplines such as contemporary dance, video art and performance.

How would you explain "Dembow" to a 5 year old :)

I would say it's a rhythm that makes you dance like no other, and I would show them some songs.

What do you add to it (Dembow) to give it your signature?

I love big sounds that remind me of the geographical landscapes I'm in. The Andes! At the same time, I also add ambient and grime sounds, along with haunting melodies that reflect my personal experiences.

You're from Quito, Ecuador, right? For someone who has never been there (like me), what kind of vibe is there, and what food is particularly local?

Every landscape is the best. You stand at every corner and every view is like a beautiful painting. The weather in Quito is kind of bipolar and almost impossible to predict. I love 'locro de papas' and hornado.

Do you improvise a lot or do you work according to a scheme?

My music comes from experimentation, from what I feel at the moment, and also from my personal experiences. For me, it's like therapy.

You collaborate a lot with PVSSY and NFTL. How did this collaboration come about?

It came about online, and mainly because we're friends. We are trying to build a scene and more connections for this kind of music through the label Cumbia Tu Mente.

I stumbled across the genre "Andes", what exactly does it mean to you guys? Do you have some original examples that you use for inspiration?

Andes is the region where I come from. The Andes are a mountain range that stretches from Colombia to Chile. In the Ecuadorian Andes, we live at high altitudes, close to the sun, in the middle of the world, so to speak. Instead of using indigenous instruments of the region, which might sound a bit cliché. I try to use big sounds, melodies and moods that remind us of the geographical landscape. The clearest example of this kind of production is Crvzloma. They have a different style than I do, but I am very grateful to them for teaching me a lot about this kind of process and the importance of a cultural identity.

When I type in RA Ecuador to look for events, the "most popular club" is Teleferiquo de Quito. And what do you say to that? I think there are other places where people come together to celebrate community.

The most popular club in Ecuador is Lost Beach. Its offshoot in Quito is the club at Teleferico. It's not my kind of club because the focus is very narrow. The only genres played there are mainstream tech house and techno. The coolest thing they have is their awesome sound system. I would love to see them diversify their audience and artists. Most of the parties I attend are self-managed and have very low budgets. They don't have a set venue, but they are great parties with incredible artists. My favorite events here are La Sagraria, La Sudada, Noche de Perras, and Cumbia Tu Mente.

Do you have 5-10 tracks by artists from Quito or your community that you think we should listen to?
