Hoavi channels the solitude of nature in winter, straight from his hometown of St. Petersburg, Russia, on his 11-track album "Posle Vsego," released on New York-based label Quiet Time's, the first release of the year. The fourth album from the unusual Russian producer envelops the listener in a dense ambient forest, where washed-out analog synthesis and weird field recordings overlap.

Following his outstanding album "Invariant", released in October on Peak Oil and declared one of the best albums of the year by Resident Advisor and Inverted Audio, this album, made between 2013 and 2020, evolves differently from "Invariant", replacing dubby jungle breaks with a more abstract atmosphere composed of layered analog synthesizers and sample recordings. Hoavi's moody ambient has a warm retro feel, but is distinctly unique and modern in its composition and mood. Like a winter walk through a forest, it feels lonely and ominous, but at the same time calm and full of beauty.
