The unthinkable has become reality. Europe is at war. The West is fighting alongside Ukraine against an unexpected invasion of troops by Russia last Thursday, February 24, 2022. Since then, the whole world has had to watch thousands of people torn from their reality to save their lives, their families, their children and their country! I know that it is not just about the invasion of one country into another, but about the defense of values, progress and cohesion.

The Events:
Thursday (February 24): Russian troops set course for Ukraine and invaded the country by surprise. After Moscow's recognition of Donetsk and Luhansk, only a day later (February 25) the first bombs fell in the capital Kyiv: "Explosions in the capital, Zelensky (Ukrainian Prime Minister) claims 'saboteurs' entered the city to assassinate him" ... Since then, the citizens of Ukraine, the Ukrainian military, European countries and the West have been in constant contact to support the country and to decide on consequences and sanctions against Russia. As many of us I have spent time trying to educate myself and research the history of this war and wanted to summarize some opinions, actors, media, and resources that I believe will be a great help in staying informed about the big picture (from big to small) and getting more information about ongoing donations and support in neighboring countries. Of course this is only a small part of what is really being reported, it is up to each person to decide what sources they follow, trust, believe. The important thing is to stay informed and support if possible.

Northern Electrics, the Swedish imprint has released a massive compilation with a goal:
“As a direct response to Russia's diabolic invasion of Ukraine, Northern Electronics assembles a sonic charity collection in order to help raise funds for UNICEF, helping the children and families who’s suffering under the rage of their occupier.
All proceeds will go to UNICEF Ukraine.”
Standard Deviation: Standard Deviation is a newly formed, multidisciplinary label platform, working on the intersection of music, art and publishing. We aim to foster creative collaborative exchange between an aspiring Ukrainian scene and a global community.
It's a mix of Ukrainian music to help people who are in a bomb shelter now, for our friends who are in civil defense, and for brave Ukrainian soldiers. We are musicians and volunteers. There is a website where people can donate to support Ukrainian volunteers and the army: standforukraine.com/

The main goal of this mix it's to spread the word about the war that Russia brought for Ukraine, to show how people from the whole world can help, and to show links with true information. Russians kill civil people in Ukraine, bombing houses and spreading propaganda. Together we can stop them. Now are contacted a few radiostations around the world who will broadcast this mix.
ШЩЦ (wwwvvv.net) is a label of friends. We made a compilation a couple years ago with 20 ukrainian electronic musicians and all of us now fight against Russia.

Information on the conflict
In the culmination of the ongoing 8-years-long war between Russia and Ukraine, Russia has declared that it recognizes the "people's republics" in Donbas as "independent". This move is meant as the setup to jeopardize years of diplomatic negotiations around the conflict and disrupt peace in the region.
Prior to the recognition, pro-Kremlin channels have spread false justifications for the ongoing war. In a speech announcing the recognition, Putin blamed Ukrainians themselves for the escalation, calling it “a colony with puppets at its helm.”
Russia has declared a full-scale invasion early in the morning of February 24th.
The National Bank of Ukraine has decided to open a special fundraising account to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The central bank’s decision comes after the Ukrainian government imposed martial law throughout Ukraine in response to armed aggression by Russia and the renewed threat to Ukraine’s independence and territorial integrity.
NBU Governor Kyrylo Shevchenko announced the opening of this special account in his 24 February video address.
